Electronic voice phenomena or (EVP) are seemingly unexplained or non deliberate noises that are recorded electronically using equipment such as radio’s and voice recorders.
AA-EVP also describes EVP’s as “anomalous, intelligible speech recorded in or produced by electronic devices, and for which no currently understood physical explanations can account.” www.aaevp.com
It is commonly thought in the Paranormal Field that these noises are paranormal entities attempting to communicate from the other side.
There are also natural explanations for EVPs these include static, interference, or the human mind attempting to recognize random noises and attempting to find a pattern and making a word out of it.
Taking this in mind APIU recommend that you try to debunk any EVP’s to try and eliminate any possible natural explanations.
Things to ask when holding an EVP session could be:
Hello
An Introduction
What is your name?
Are you male or female?
How old are you?
Ho many spirits are here tonight?
Do you want us to leave?
Did you used to live here?
Can we help you today?
Also ask any questions you have that are relevant to the investigation and use any facts and information that was gathered prior to the investigation to try and communicate.
There are certain programmers widely available to download that will filter out and amplify noises to help examine possible EVP’s. However caution needs to be taken when using these programmers as the more work that is done to an EVP to filter etc can diminish the credibility of the EVP.
APIU uses voice recorders as a tool to try to communicate with the paranormal during an investigation. APIU try to eliminate all possible background noises before starting an EVP session as any background noise can easily interfere with the findings. APIU do not recommend conducting EVP sessions when raining or during electrical storms.
