Investigation Report
We arrived at the Drunken Admiral around 11pm on the 8/9/09.
We met with the staff of the DA and they told us about the ghost stories and experiences they or the customers have encountered. Here some of the stories we were pretty excited about what we may uncover.
Our first matter of business was too do a walk around of the Restaurant whilst the lights were on to get a feel for our surrounds whilst also doing a base Temp and EMF scan. We noted that both EMF and Temp was fairly consistent and there were no major spikes apart from an EMF spike under the Parrot where there were some electrics.
After lights out we walked around with our medium whilst he got acquainted with the building any spirits that maybe inside that night. Our medium indicated that he felt a presence towards the toilet area and noted that he thought the toilet door was unusually heavy when he tried to open it.
Next we did an EVP session and set up 2 cameras facing different angles, one camera was pointed towards us and another towards the toilet area. We began by asking some questions of the spirits inside using some information that we had gathered from staff etc. We did hear a few noises but we were unable to ascertain whether these tap like noises were in response to our questions or not.
Our medium indicated that he felt a presence in the DA but it seemed to want to distance itself from us. For example what ever end we were investigating the spirit was at the other end. We then moved down to the opposite end of the restaurant we left two cameras up the other end there both facing the toilets but covering different angles. Upon play back we noted that there seems to be a moving orb like entities that seemed to come from the toilets. The Orb like entity was captured by both cameras’s which we were pretty stoked about. We are still trying to analyse the orb footage to determine what it exactly it is.
Some of the Team conducted lone vigils of certain parts of the restaurant to see if they can personally encounter and capture anything paranormal; however no paranormal activity was recorded. The rest of the night the team conducted a few more EVP sessions and also tried communicating with the paranormal using motion senor sand EMF metres but didn’t record anything paranormal.
In summary the Drunken Admiral has had its fair share of paranormal activity that has been experienced by not only staff but also customers. The paranormal activity has also been in the Mercury Newspaper and a visiting medium, has indicated presence of spirit children possibly accounting for some of mischievous things happening.
Whilst APIU did not uncover any paranormal activity there that night, we do believe that it would warrant further investigation and possible set up of a DVR system to record video footage from all angles of the restaurant.
