February started off very dark for A.P.I.U after losing new recruit Nic T due to personal commitments. But after Nic’s departure we quickly found a sutible replacement in Chris A who has know Glenn and myself since kindergarden and will be a good fit to our team.
Alison also tee’d up an investigation of Franklin house for us in april which will put newbie Chris to the challange, But also to put A.P.I.U new equipment to the test which include’s a new Hp laptop, two new sony video cameras, sony IR extender and a K2 meter.
We will also be trying our new vigil system at Franklin house.
A.P.I.U recived a distressing email from a private house owner about some “paranormal happenings” going on in her house recently after some renovation’s have taken place. A.P.I.U are currently booking a date to investigate and help.
February Willow court news: Nick, Glenn and myself are also Willow court committee members aswell as the Co-founders of A.P.I.U, The DVC are currently in talks about making our committee a legal part of the DVC which will not only give us a big say in the happenings of Willow court but also give us insurance.
This is the first of A.P.I.U’s end of month cap which will be published at the end of each month.
Thank you
Aiden Sullivan

We have raised the idea of a night tour during this Heritage Tas Festival in May and we have had one Councillor already support this idea and willing to follow up. Things are looking quite positive, now we need to work out the finer details.
If this goes ahead it could open some very big doors and opportunities for APIU
Any ideas on how it should be run ???

APIU Co-founders Nick Jarvis and Aiden Sullivan met with Team Members Drew, Mike and Justin from Team Strigoi who are a Launceston based paranormal team on Saturday night to explore and investigate Willow Court and Royal Derwent Hospital.
The night started around 8:00pm where we met with Team Strigoi and Bridgewater McDonald’s to escort them to New Norfolk and Willow Court. We parked at the Willow Court Motel and Nick Jarvis spoke with the private owner Haydn Pearce who allowed us access to his buildings which was a real bonus, because we hadn’t planned to explore these Wards.
After getting the keys we decided to tour Team Strigoi through the nurse’s cottage and shortly after J Ward. It was near dark when we went into Lyprenny to have a look around.
After exiting Lyprenny we took Strigoi down and showed them the rear of Admin building, Barracks, Bronte and Ward C. As we stood there by the fence at the rear of Admin, the new owner Mario came out to investigate who we were and what we were doing. We spoke to Mario for a bit and he informed us that he plans to use the bulk of the building for a private residence and hire the hall/stage area for public functions.
Our next move was to return the keys to Haydn then tour team Strigoi around the Council owned buildings on Willow Court then over to the privately owned Royal Derwent Hospital.
During the course of the night both APIU and Team Strigoi was conducting investigations in the various wards that we were exploring at the time. It was a good opportunity for APIU to test out some new equipment that had been purchased recently.
At around 1:30pm whilst in Lyprenny we decided to call it a night. Team Strigoi planned to stay there until morning the drive back up to Launceston.
It was a great night and APIU made some handy contacts especially with Investigations in Northern Tasmania. APIU stated that they were happy to invite Team Strigoi back to Willow Court when we have planned an official Investigation Organised. Team Strigoi stated that they would also extend and invite to an Entally House Investigation.
Hopefully over the next few days we will go through the footage and recordings that were collected. We will post any paranormal findings on the website.
Here is the evidence caught on Aiden’s mini dv camera.

A.P.I.U are in talks with the management at Port Arthur about a possible investigation to be under taken by us, This will mean that A.P.I.U will be following in the foot steps of GHI with is one of the biggest paranormal teams in the world.
News to come.
A.P.I.U have just taken ownership of 2 new sony 0 Lux night shot video camera’s and a sony IR extender to allow a larger IR light source for our video camera’s to feed off and to improve the video quality for your viewing pleasure.
The Derwent Valley Council has stated that we need minimum insurance requirements for the utilization of this site are as follows.
Plant and Equipment insurance, Workers Compensation Insurance, Public Liability Insurance to a minimum of 10 million, Professional Indemnity Insurance.
We would also require an Occupational Health and Safety Strategy (Risk Management Plan) and a Site Security Plan.
A bit disspointing considering we have been allowed access into several National Trust buildings and other private buildings without all the insurance etc.
